Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most from boat owners.Do not see yours? Our service team is happy to help.

Call Our Service Team
What types of boats and engines do you service?

Our service department is marine only. We service boats and outboards from the brands we carry, including Mercury, MerCruiser, Yamaha, and Volvo Penta engines along with Malibu, Axis, and Crestliner boats. We do not service powersports, ATVs, or side by sides.

How quickly is warranty work completed?

Notify us by Monday and in most cases you are back on the water by Friday. Our dedicated warranty technician brings more than 35 years of experience to every claim.

Why does my new boat need a 20-hour service?

The first 20 hours are your engine break-in period. The 20-hour check verifies proper wear patterns, removes early contaminants, checks fluid levels and calibration, and helps protect your engine warranty coverage.

When should I winterize my boat?

Plan to winterize before the first hard freeze. North Dakota winters are tough on fuel systems, cooling systems, ballast, and plumbing, so scheduling early keeps your boat protected and helps you avoid the fall rush.

Should I shrink wrap my boat if I store it outdoors?

Yes. If your boat will be stored outdoors over the winter, we strongly recommend shrink wrapping. It keeps snow and ice off the deck and protects upholstery, electronics, and finishes from moisture and UV damage.

Do you work with insurance companies?

Yes. We provide damage assessments and written estimates, document the affected areas, communicate with your adjuster, and coordinate approval so the repair process stays simple for you.

How often should my water pump impeller be replaced?

Follow the interval recommended by your engine manufacturer. Impellers can dry out, crack, or lose flexibility even when a boat is not used often, so scheduled replacement is the best way to prevent overheating.

Is repowering worth it for an older boat?

Repowering can restore performance, reliability, and value without replacing a boat you already love. We evaluate your hull, weight, transom rating, and how you use your boat before recommending the right outboard.

How do I schedule service?
